Typist Artist Pirate King | In Cinemas 27th October

We are excited to announce that Typist Artist Pirate King will be released in cinemas on 27th October.

We were the music supervisors for the film which features music by Blondie, Boy George, Elbow and Fairport Convention.

Typist Artist Pirate King puts forgotten artist Audrey Amiss on the map. Inspired by her extensive archive of diaries, letters and art, the film weaves real events into an imagined journey as Audrey goes on a road trip with her psychiatric nurse.

From acclaimed British filmmaker, Carol Morley, this dark and funny exploration of the growing friendship between two women as they hit the road in an electric car looking for reconciliation, is filled with adventure, humour and compassion.

Executive produced by Jane Campion and starring Kelly Macdonald (Trainspotting, Elizabeth, Gosford Park), Gina McKee (Our Friends In The North, Notting Hill, Phantom Thread, My Policeman) and Monica Dolan (Empire of Light, Cyrano, Appropriate Adult).

Cat Person | Trailer

The trailer for Cat Person was created by Empire Design, on behalf of StudioCanal, with music supervision by ThinkSync Music. The trailer features the song ‘Monster‘ by Ely Eira.

Cat Person is a black comedy psychological thriller film directed by Susanna Fogel, from a screenplay by Michelle Ashford, based on the 2017 short story of the same name by Kristen Roupenian.

When Margot, a college sophomore goes on a date with an older man, Robert, she finds that ‘IRL Robert’ doesn’t live up to the Robert she has been flirting with over texts.

The film is a razor-sharp exploration of the gender divide, the quagmire of navigating modern dating and the dangerous projections we make in our minds about the person at the other end of our phones.

UK Cinemas come together to celebrate National Cinema Day on 2nd September 2023

Over 630 venues have signed up to participate in the event, offering tickets from £3 to cinema-goers
across the day. Following up on a hugely successful first edition in 2022, those participating include all
major UK cinema operators and a wide range of smaller cinema operators and venues.

We did the music supervision for the trailer which will be shown for 1 month across cinemas in UK/EIRE in celebration of National Cinema Day. The trailer features the Superhuman cover of All Right Now by Free.

The trailer is to showcase films that will be released theatrically between September 2023 and February 2024. Created by Empire Design for Cinema First, the industry body which promotes cinemagoing.

Molly Nilsson featured in In Camera

In Camera is the first feature from writer-director Naqqash Khalid, which sees the filmmaker break with the norms of conventional filmmaking, creating a dialogue between the observer and the observed, making a satirical comment on contemporary race politics.

The story follows Aden, a young Actor who is in a cycle of nightmarish auditions. After he receives multiple rejections, Aden takes it upon himself to find a new part to play.

‘I Hope You Die’ by Molly Nilsson features in the film.

The film has been nominated in the London Film Festival’s First Feature Competition.

Reptile | Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming American crime thriller Reptile, was created by Empire Design with music supervision by ThinkSync Music. It features a custom trailerised remix of Evie Sands – Angel of the Morning by Crystal Creative.

The film stars Benicio del Toro in the lead role of Detective Tom Nichols as he tries to solve the murder of a real estate agent and, as a result of the case, reflects upon his own life.

All of Us Strangers | In Cinemas 26th January 2024

We are very excited to share that ‘All of Us Strangers’ will be released in cinemas on 26th January 2024!

Connie was the music supervisor for the film, which features music from Pet Shop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Blur.

All of Us Strangers is an upcoming British fantasy drama film directed by Andrew Haigh (Weekend, 45 Years, Lean On Pete), based on the 1987 novel Strangers by Taichi Yamada, with the film’s screenplay written by Haigh. The film stars Andrew Scott (Fleabag), Paul Mescal (Aftersun, Normal People), Claire Foy (The Crown), and Jamie Bell (Rocketman).

The story follows Adam (Scott), a lonely screenwriter living in London, who encounters his mysterious neighbour Harry (Mescal) and then discovers in his childhood home, his long-dead parents (Foy and Bell) looking the same as they did 30 years ago.

Shirley Collins | Desert Island Discs

The legendary folk singer, Shirley Collins, is the latest guest to share the soundtrack of her life with Lauren Laverne on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

Shirley talks about her childhood, growing up singing traditional folk songs with her family, discovering that she would like to make it her career and performing with her sister, Dolly.

Shirley’s choices include The Copper Family – The Birds in the Spring, Mississippi Fred McDowell – 61 Highway Blues and Mark Knopfler – Going Home.

Limb featured in Series 2 of Heels

Heels is a Starz-original wrestling drama which follows brothers Jack and Ace Spade and their relationship in relation to their father’s legacy, the DWL. A look into the world of small-town wrestling, the series is all about chasing dreams as Jack tries to bring the DWL greater recognition outside their close-knit Georgia community while Ace tries to step out of his brother’s shadow.

Rising Tides by Limb appears in Episode 1 of Series 2.

Shirley Collins featured in The Change

The Change is a comedy drama starring, written and created by Bridget Christie for Channel 4.

The series follows Linda, a 50-year-old, married, working-class, mother-of-two who’s having an existential crisis prompted by the menopause. After realising how much time she’s spent doing invisible work for those around her, she jumps on her motorbike and returns to the Forest of Dean, where she spent time as a child.

The series features two songs by Shirley Collins, ‘The Cherry Tree Carol’ and ‘Adieu To Old England’.
