A selection of tracks from the Luaka Bop catalogue. Founded in 1989, this New York label was established by Talking Head’s David Byrne. Often branded as ‘Byrne’s World Music label’, in recent years it has grown to include an eclectic array of artists such as Delicate Steve, Bright Moments and many more.
We’re pleased to announce that we have three tracks featured on this month’s Mojo magazine covermount from Wooden Shjips, Mugstar and Carlton Melton.
Entitled ‘Echoes’, the CD is a collection of modern psychedelia and has tracks from Tame Impala, Animal Collective, Django Django and more.

Carol Morley’s incredible Dreams Of A Life is to have its first UK broadcast on Channel 4 on Thursday 7th February, 10pm.
The film follows the case of Joyce Vincent, a 38-year-old who died in her apartment above a shopping mall in North London in 2003. Her skeleton was discovered three years later in the apartment, where the TV and heating were still on. ThinkSync’s Connie Farr music supervised the film.

Miaoux Miaoux’s ‘Singing In The Dark’ has successfully been placed in an upcoming episode of hit Canadian TV show ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’.
The track is taken from his debut album ‘Light Of The North’, released in June 2011.

Wooden Shjip’s ‘Crossing’ has been placed in a current Billabong film. Entitled ‘Bad Bad Not Good’, the spot follows surfer Ryan Callinan and the highs and lows of his career.

We’re thrilled to announce that Gimme The Loot has won best feature film at the Molodist International Film Festival in Kiev.
Established since 1970, it is the only Ukrainian film festival and includes submissions from around the globe.

Iconic British folk singer Shirley Collins has recorded a voice-over for a short film as part of Sigur Ros’s ‘Mystery Film Experiment’. The project gave a modest budget to a dozen film makers and asked them to create whatever came into their heads when listening to songs from the band’s new album Valtari.
Directed by Nick Abrahams, Collins is the voice of the snail. View the beautiful film here
