Based on a novel by the same name, Lean On Pete follows the story of Charley, a 15-year old boy from a poor background and a broken home, who finds casual work caring for an ageing racehorse called Lean On Pete.
Charley and Pete embark on an odyssey across the new American frontier in search of his long lost mother when Charley learns that the horse is bound for slaughter.
Written and directed by Andrew Haigh, starring Charlie Plummer, Steve Buscemi, Travis Fimmel and Chloe Sevigny, and produced by The Bureau, the critically acclaimed Lean On Pete, which earned Charlie Plummer a Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor or Actress at the 74th Venice International Film Festival, is a film that will tug on your heartstrings.
Connie Farr was the music supervisor for this film that is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes, and received rave reviews from the likes of Roger Ebert, Variety and The Guardian.
Lean On Pete will be broadcast this evening on Film 4 at 23:15, and will be available to stream on All 4 from the 8th of December, 2020.
